Magical Realm

A huge thank-you for choosing to visit and reading the following article. Great choice, hope you will enjoy it.

In a world rooted in science and technology, is there room for a magical realm? While most societies put their faith in the tangible, others believe that events, objects, people and physical phenomena can be influenced by magic. Is it possible for the unknown to impact the real world? In this article, we'll explore the roots of mysticism and how it impacts our modern societies.

Evidence of practical illusion was first found in ancient Egypt with a class of priest. The 'magi' are believed to be the ancient version of what we know today as the 'magician'. Researchers have uncovered a large number of Egyptian magical papyri in Greek, Coptic and Demotic. They contain early examples of the use of "magic words", believed to have had the power to command spirits.

Practitioners of illusion believe that it is based in natural forces. These magical forces are said to exist alongside the four fundamental forces of nature: gravity, electromagnetism, the strong force and the weak force. These believers are said to be able to manipulate these elements using symbols and other objects. Symbols are believed to magically take on a physical quality of the phenomenon or object that they represent. Through symbols, users can manipulate a target.

Concentration or meditation can be a source of magical powers in a magical realm or otherwise. Renowned writer and mystic Aleister Crowley believes that focusing on an imagined object produces mystical attainment. Others believe that the subconscious can contact spirits who can fulfill the wishes of the individual. Forms of this type of magic are still used in modern societies.

For example, a runner about to compete in a race will visualize crossing the finish line in victory. Or, an addict will find the road to sobriety by picturing a happy and productive life. The single element that magic and prayer share is roots in religion. Both magic and prayer involves worship and possibly sacrifice to a supernatural being or god.

This divine being is then expected to act in favor of the individual who is praying. However, prayer requires the approval of a god. Magic does not require this kind of consent. A master magician can achieve his desires by performing rituals or by controlling spiritual beings addressed by his spells.

Mysticism may have taken a backseat to science and technology, but the magical realm of the unknown continues to be a part of our modern societies. It's easy to dismiss magic as the musings of primitive peoples, but we must ask ourselves why some individuals cling to these beliefs. Is it possible to commune with the gods by practicing prayer and rituals? Consider this - countless people are afraid of black magic. Why would they experience fear if history didn't show that there was truly something to be afraid of?

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for reading my article and I suggest that you check out a few more.

Today's Tip On Magic

According to his area of expertise, the magician can also be referred to as a conjuror, illusionist, mentalist or escape artist. While their feats may appear wondrous, they are in fact just tricks to the eye. Exceptionally gifted magicians can use their skill and charisma to leave audiences awe struck. The magical powers of Criss Angel and David Blaine has brought renewed popularity to the art form and large audiences are once again flocking to see mysticism at work.
